David Mayer de Rothschild (b.1978)

David de Rothschild is the youngest son of Sir Evelyn de Rothschild (b.1931) and Victoria Lou Schott (1949-2021). He is an adventurer, ecologist, and environmentalist. He heads the Sculpt the Future Foundation, a charity that promotes positive environmental change towards global sustainability by supporting creative, innovative and sustainable action.

David Mayer de Rothchild has written extensively on environmental issues. Copies of some of his publications will be found in the Reading Room Library.

VHS cassette of David de Rothschild interviewed on Sky News TV, 10 February 2006 and 24 April 2006 before and during his 2006 arctic expedition. In 2006 David de Rothschild spent over 100 days crossing the Arctic from Russia to Canada, which saw him become one of only 42 people, and the youngest British person, to ever reach both geographical poles.
