Marie-Louise, (Marie-Lou) Beer was born in France, the daughter Edmond Beer. Her sister Nelly had married Robert de Rothschild in 1907, and in 1912 she married Lionel de Rothschild (1882-1942). The wedding, in Paris, was held in private, as she was in mourning for her father, who had died earlier that year. The couple lived at Exbury from 1919, and in London, at 18, Kensington Palace Gardens. They had four children; Rosemary, Edmund, Naomi and Leopold.

- Black and white print of Marie-Louise, Mrs Lionel de Rothschild in court dress, c.1912;
- Black and white photographic print on card mount of a woman, seated in front of stone facade to a building. Similar in date and composition to those taken by Lionel de Rothschild, c.1912. The photograph ahs been identified as possibly that of Alice Beer (née Kohn) (1861-1957), the mother of Marie-Louise Beer;
- Copy print of a photograph of Marie-Louise, Mrs Lionel de Rothschild demonstrating first aid at the London Hospital, October, 1939.

A small collection of family papers gifted to the archive by the late Mrs Rosemary Seys (née de Rothschild) (1913-2013) relating to the family at Exbury, including family correspondence by and to Marie-Louise, Mrs Lionel de Rothschild, (née Beer) (1892-1975) and Rothschild family documents; scrapbooks of press cuttings, invitations, newspaper cuttings and other ephemera. The papers were collected by Marie-Louise, Mrs Lionel de Rothschild and arranged by her and her secretary Miss Longdon. Since the death of Mrs de Rothschild in 1975 her daughter, Rosemary Seys, was the custodian of the collection, before presenting it to the Archive in March 2001. Some items closed.
