BICE Chileconsult, Chile

N M Rothschild & Sons established BICE Chileconsult in 1979, a joint venture with Banco de Commercial de Sao Paolo and Eliodoro Matte. The company was to function essentially as a capital markets/corporate finance operation with a money broking and dealing subsidiary. In 1987, the partnership with Sñr Matte was extended, with the acquisition by RCH of a 40% interest in BICE, the Matte family-owned Banco Industrial de Comercio Exterior, a commercial bank involved in dealing, commercial lending and foreign trade finance.
